Professional Application: The Heirloom Glass Finish
Achieve unparalleled optical clarity and a flawless, glass-like surface for your most prized centerpieces and fine furniture. This advanced technique utilizes friction and pore-packing to forge our food-safe blend into a continuous, mirror-like gloss.
Step 1: Create the Perfect Foundation
Apply a generous layer of the finish directly to the wood. While wet, aggressively sand the surface using 600-grit wet/dry sandpaper. This action mixes fine wood dust with the golden oils to create a natural slurry that packs the open pores, establishing a perfectly smooth, glass-like base.
Step 2: Lock in the Pores
After a 20-minute soak, take a clean cotton cloth and wipe away the excess slurry by rubbing firmly across the grain first. This packs the mixture deeply into any remaining voids. Finish with a gentle wipe along the grain, then let the piece cure for 48 hours to harden this flawless foundation layer.
Step 3: Build the Micro-Layers
Lightly scuff the cured surface with a clean, white non-woven pad. Apply an incredibly thin, microscopic layer of the finish and immediately buff it completely dry. Repeat this process after 24 hours. This micro-layering builds immense depth, resilience, and an elegant optical clarity.
Step 4: The Friction Burnish
Apply a tiny, dime-sized amount of finish. Rapidly buff the surface with a soft cotton cloth or a machine buffer to create intense friction and heat. This critical action melts the beeswax into a continuous, frictionless micro-layer, leaving behind a stunning, high-gloss brilliance.
Your showpiece will possess an immediate, breathtaking luster. Allow 72 hours for initial hardening before display, and a full 30 days for complete polymerization, ensuring your glass-like finish becomes a durable, lifelong defense against daily wear.
